Steam no longer launching games

Title pretty much explains it. I click play, the button goes blue, then back to green, like it just quit the game by itself. I tried launching steam from the terminal and it gives me this output:

env: error while loading shared libraries: libspdlog.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It does the same for all games, regardless of the proton version I use. I tried reinstalling spdlog, to no avail. Any ideas?

Re: Steam no longer launching games

That link was in 1.10.0-3 version , but seems to have disappeared in the the 1.11.0-1 package.

I suggest you create a bug report at https://bugs.archlinux.org/ and for now downgrade to the 1.10.0-3 version.

Welcome to archlinux forums.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Steam no longer launching games

spdlog in a steam context seems to be only a requirement for mangohud, another alternative would be to  not run that unconditionally and/or rebuilding it against the new spdlog.

Re: Steam no longer launching games

@Lone_Wolf Thank you, I downgraded to 1.10.0-3 and now it works as intended. Opened a bug report too.
