A while back I posted a thread in the Networking forum (in which I received no replies) because I would receive a kernel panic after setting up wpa_supplicant+madwifi+network profile in arch64. -

Well, I did a little bit more research and found that the kernel panic was when I tried using ath0 by 'ifconfig ath0 up' or by adding ath0 to my /etc/rc.conf. The wpa_supplicant or network profile had nothing to do with it.
Today I tried setting up wireless in Arch i686 and I received NO kernel panic. Ath0 worked great, and everything went fine.
I think this is a HUGE bug in Arch64 and I though I would alert everyone. I really like Arch so I am hoping that the devs will fix this problem. 8)

Seems to be the same problem as mentioned here: https://forum.archlinux.de/?page=Postin … hread=5384
(I have no notebook with x86_64-cpu atm, so I cannot confirm this)

Hopefully the Arch64 devs will fix this issue very soon. I really like Arch but sadly, since I want a 64-bit OS I will have to go back to Gentoo (which is also a great distro).
