Banshee has died

I liked banshee because it had ipod support cd ripping clean layout not too bloated......

Now nothing works

My ipod is not detected Cd import does not allow mp3 ripping interface has broke

I blame Gnome lol

Why do I have to run dbus-launch does it affect how apps works ?

It worked fine before

Little upset because I love my music & my ipod

I am not sure if you have heard it but it seems like Apple did some things to break compatible.

Re: Banshee has died

I think there is a bug report and, from some googling, it is relate to mono.

Re: Banshee has died

gconftool-2 --set /apps/Banshee/IOBackend --type string systemio

Does allow cd importing to work but I still cannot get it to import as mp3 while ogg is fine it will not work on my ipod

Of course you can use audio-convert ;-)

Have now got extra plugins working so thats something at least

While syncing ipod has stopped working maybe its due to mono I'm not sure

Seems like ages ago....

cvs version does fix some issues

My knowledge of mono is very limited so have to rely on others to fix problems

tried to post to there mailing list but no help was given maybe I was just telling them what they already knew

I like Banshee and will keep using it if only as a front end player.. just have to watch for updates ...

Re: Banshee has died

Thanks Mr Green

The gconftool command fixed the importing of mp3 files for me.

Re: Banshee has died

Well,

I typed

gconftool-2 --set /apps/Banshee/IOBackend --type string systemio

exactly as you posted and I was able to import MP3 files.  Though, I am still having some unrelated trouble.  The only options that shows up for creating a CD is "audio".  The options for "mp3" and "data" are missing.

Good luck
