Unable to connect with USB adapter DWA-121 (D-Link)

Hello, i have an issue with a D-Link USB wireless adapter (DWA-121): i can't connect it to my wi-fi.
I currently use NetworkManager, and i also use nmcli to manage the interface.

The output of ip link for the interface is:

ip link

The interface in question is wlp0s16u3.

When i try to set up the interface with nmcli the error is:

 nmcli device up wlp0s16u3

Error: Connection activation failed: (4) The device could not be readied for configuration.

One thing i noted is that the device is not listed with iw dev:

The module loaded seems to be r8188eu, a staging one. the relevant dmesg output is:

I tried this

ip link set wlp0s16u3 up

Then i retried to connect with nmcli. The output has now changed:

nmcli device up wlp0s16u3

Error: Failed to add/activate new connection: A 'wireless' setting is required if no AP path was given.

I have tried this

# rfkill unblock wifi

Then i retried

# rfkill list

But nmcli posted the same error.
I rebooted and i retried:

# rfkill list

0: hci0: Bluetooth
	Soft blocked: yes
	Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
	Soft blocked: yes
	Hard blocked: no

Apparently it soft blocked again.By the way, is phy0 the wireless usb adapter? I also have a wireless card in the laptop.

phy0 is probably the internal wifi card.

Loading the r8188eu module with the option rtw_power_mgnt=0 may help. If not, the AUR package 8188eu-dkms-git will give you a better driver.
