Flatpak and clion and file manager permissions

Hello,

I am having trouble setting the right permissions for clion (installed with flatpak).

For those who know the IDE, one is normally able to see the logs the file manager.

Unfortunately when clicking on "Show Log In File Manager" nothing happens. I'm getting the feeling it is because of permission/access problem.

Also, when trying to set the shell in clion, I am unable to set "zsh", it is unable to find it.

Thank you very much in advance for any help

Re: Flatpak and clion and file manager permissions

For communication to the "outside" world from a flatpak you require an appropriate implementation of xdg-portal, depending on what environment you are using here there exists one for gnome, kde or wlr. Is any of those set up and started? What is your environment in general?

Alternatively don't use flatpak, these kind of drawbacks are basically what you sign up for and then you rip open holes into the sandbox again by opening the system up in general, which would render it moot.

Re: Flatpak and clion and file manager permissions

All JetBrians products are available from the official source in Arch using https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/jetbrains-toolbox

CLion Flatpak package does not come from upstream (it's no official).
