Sound output stopped working after speaker cable fell out [SOLVED]

The speaker cable fell out of the Line-Out port on the back of my PC (which connects directly to my motherboard) when I moved the computer a couple of centimeters. It was playing an audio file with mpv in tmux at the time. I plugged it back in and noticed there was no audio coming out the speakers. I thought I might have broken the speaker's cable. However, I plugged the speaker cable into another computer and the speakers still produced audio.

I doubled-checked all my levels in alsamixer were set to 100%. I selected what I think is the default sound card in alsamixer. I rebooted. I updated Arch and rebooted. I tried both audio and video files in mplayer, mpv and vlc as well as running Youtube in Firefox. I cannot get any audio output from the speakers. I can run speaker-out without an error, but it produces no sound.

I tried plugging my speaker into the other Line-Out port on the front of my PC case. That also didn't produce output. I also tried plugging a pair of headphones in both the front and back Line-Out. Still no output. The front line-out is part of my PC case and meant specifically for headphones. When I plug headphones into the line-out on the front of my PC when alsamixer is open, I can see alsamixer switches from Master volume to Headphone volume. So my PC still recognizes I put headphones in.

My computer can still record audio in Audacium. I successfully recorded mp3 files by plugging a microphone in both the back and front Mic-In ports.

I booted an Linux Mint installation from USB. I could play sound fine with that. So it is definitely an issue with Arch. What is happening here and how do I fix it? Thanks.

in general while using pulseaudio or pipewire or so you'd best check your volumes in a mixer designed for it, like e.g. pavucontrol or so. But still even if you did check with alsamixer, it should've shown you all of them as muted (the MM instead of OO) at the bottom of the bar

So, that's what those "MM" under the bars in alsamixer mean. I was just looking at that the bars. I pressed "M" over the bars, they changed to "OO"s. Now everything is okay. Thanks for the help.

I still find it strange it muted that like when the audio cord was pulled.
