When i run something resource heavy on my arch linux my screen output randomly goes off.I can still hear the video sound and use the keyboard but the monitor just doesnt output anything. am using intel cpu. if am using xfce reducing the brightness completely and increasing it after brings the screen back, or when am using any DE making the computer go to sleep and working it up brings the screen back or rather turning off and on the laptop, i don't know where the problem is.
I recently posted this topic but it was closed before i could get help, just because i had installed a black arch repository... This is arch linux here is the output:

You're technically running blackarch - regardless of how the repo ended up there and certainly what some screenfetch tool says.
Either way, if you want to appeal that decision, report your original thread, do not open a new one.

I tried to report there but i cant type its like am no longer allowed to type.
I installed arch linux, i downloaded the iso from the arch website, then i wanted some extra pen testing tools that how i added the blackarch user repository.

There's a "report" link in the right bottom corner of every post.
Try https://bbs.archlinux.org/misc.php?report=2070218

I do note that you did successfully use the report link and I did read your appeal. And, there is some grey area there. I did not take any action, nor did I mark the reports has having been read to allow my colleagues to see the report and to consider the appeal.
And, I am not closing this thread at this time.
Allow me an observation. Your posts in the other thread seem indicative of someone who is not what one might consider a power user; yet you have installed Blackarch which is generally a bit more geared toward the advanced user.

Thank you, your positive response will be highly appreciated, that repo didn't end up there by accident and am not running black arch, am a curious person and also new to linux, am exploring and learning different technologies i installed that black arch repo because i needed extra tools. if there are commands you would like me to enter to prove that this is arch linux, please kindly send them and i will produce the output.

paclist blackarch # from pacman-contribblackarch doesn't only add but also replace stuff.
I *guess* nothing that would impact your backlight, but that's hard to tell.
But because of this you cannot "prove that this is arch linux" because it's not.
BlackArch is the blackarch repo augmenting archlinux - and that's currently your system.
You *are* currently using blackarch.

Does me installing black arch repo mean that I won't be helped because if I go to the black arch sites for help and they find arch Linux repos don't you think they will say I installed arch Linux and when it is true that I installed arch using the iso image I got from the site, I chose arch because you build the system from scratch according to how you want it to be and I ended up falling in love with pacman, aur and many other things, so in my case how can you help me, if I remove the black arch repo the way I installed it, will you then consider this arch Linux or am not just going to be helped and it's not only help that I have got from this and previous topic, I have learnt about a lot, such as the journal and many other things all am asking for is help, to be pointed to the right direction, what I should read in order to maintain my system.
Already you are saying gdm is triggering you power and am searching for ways to do as you guided in that post. You are professionals and I cannot argue with professionals, just help me or suggest what might help me. And to start with I will remove the black arch repo since it's now disadvantaging me from getting help from the community I belong. Thank you advance for your consideration.

Good luck to you. If you succeed, welcome to the forums with a purerbed Arch.

That is the dilemma. I started to look into this as a thought I recalled a time where we had a Wiki page on how to set this up. If we did, that page no longer exists. I imagine it is because they provide things that are in conflict with our repositories and replace them. In this case, Black Arch truly is a fork of Arch Linux rather than a 'simple' repository that offers additional packages -- it truly does change the nature of Arch in ways we (the Arch Linux team) don't know.
In my personal view, The Black Arch team (or anyone forking a project) has the ethical obligation provide support for the forked product. They certainly cannot expect the project from which they forked to spend their time and treasure supporting a product that is no longer their work product. So, I would expect Black Arch to provide the support. YMMV.
