Every time nm-applet (network-manager-applet) sends a notification (e.g. after connecting to the network) the program is supposed to (and used to) use desktop notifications. However, I get a pop-up window (I believe just a general GTK notification window) where I have to manually click the "OK" button (rather than just getting an automatically disappearing desktop notification).
This functionality used to work fine until an update (now on version 1.30). For desktop notifications I used notify-osd and can verify that it still works, e.g. via running
notify-send "test"
