snd-hda-intel: sometimes it works, sometimes not

I searched the forums before and found several posts about snd-hda-intel.

I tried those "solutions" but nothing helped.
Sometimes sounds works. If not I change the volumes and then it works again.
At first there is a high noise in the background, really annoying. Then I change the front or headphone volume until the sound is clear.

As you can see, this is very strange.
When I ran dmesg I got the following output:

ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1b.0[A] -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1b.0 to 64
hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to single_cmd mode...

Does anyone know the meaning of this? Maybe this could help me solving my problem.

Re: snd-hda-intel: sometimes it works, sometimes not

It seems snd-hda-intel actually works with "hundreds" of different soundcards. Support for new soundcards are added all the time, but really new ones or rare ones may not work properly. If you feel like it, tell the Alsa project exactly what kind of soundcard/chipset you have problems with, and they'll probably fix it quite quickly, if you can give them the information they need.
There is also, of course, a small chance that you have a hardware problem.
