I am using ink tank wireless 415 printer . It is a wireless printer which means it is not connected to my computer through usb , parallel port or through any RJ 45 cable. I installed the cups and cups-pdf package , enabled the service but nothing worked. I also installed avahi but still it didn't detect my printer. My hp printer works well in other linux distros and in windows 11 where they had the hp software pre installed. The hp software used to automatically detect the printer. Is there a way to connect my printer to arch linux ?

Install cups-browsed

Are you trying to install the printer or use it with on-the-fly configuration? Did you enable avahi? Did you reboot since enabling the services? If not, you need to start them.
Install cups-browsed
There does not seem to be any package by that name in either the repos or AUR.

It is NOT a package by itself. You'll find installed by cups-filters: usr/bin/cups-browsed under Package Contents.

I can easily connect the wireless printer to mobiles and other devices through the printers wifi. I cannot connect it to my desktop since I am using ethernet. In windows I used a software called as Hp print manager which automatically used to detect my printer and connect to it.

Does "avahi-discover" detect that thing? Are you even in the same subnet?
Have you tried to address it by its IP directly?
You also might need the https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hplip-plugin
Offline
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imag … ices/index suggest's it's supported but only via USB, did you have it plugged via USB on these other linux systems systems? Can you post the outputs/check whether it's present within
avahi-browse -a
and maybe also check your CUPS logs whether there's any mention of an issue detecting the thing.
Edit: Argh I was switched to another tab and then didn't hit preview
