[SOLVED] Virtualbox stuck on starting vm

I followed the arch wiki guide on installing virtualbox, I tried both virtualbox-host-modules-arch and virtualbox-host-dkms. I don't need the extra modules.
I'm on a framework laptop i5 11th gen, kernel 6.0.11-arch1-1 (This happened with previous kernels too but i'll state the one im running right now).

Whenever i start a vm, it opens up a loading window which says "Starting virtual machine...". This doesn't go away until i kill it with the command line.
After i kill it and i try and open virtualbox again, the gui is hidden but it does show up in running processes. This behavior does not stop until i fully restart my laptop.
I've tried the "I/O APIC" option because its turned on by default for me. I've tried both chipsets PIIX3 & ICH9 but that doesn't make any difference.
I don't need to mobprobe because i have already restarted numerous times, secure boot is also off.

I tried stating as much info as i could, feel free to ask for more.

Re: [SOLVED] Virtualbox stuck on starting vm

What's you problem on? On starting VirtualBox itself (so Host side)? Or starting the Guest OS?

Re: [SOLVED] Virtualbox stuck on starting vm

Personally I'm installing all of my Linux guest(s) (on both Arch and Windows Hosts) with:
- Hardware Virtualization enabled in hots's UEFI Settings (AMD Ryzen 7 1700)
- KVM (or Hyper-V on Windows Host) explicitly declared as Paravirtualization Providers
- EFI enabled
- ICH9 chipset
- enabling 3D support for the VirtualGPU with 128MB of GPU memory
- after closing and saving the Guest's Settings I enable VBoxSVGA from outside the VirtualBox Guest Settings screen

Same exact settings, except i have intel-vt enabled in uefi settings (amd-v equivalent).

Edit: another thing i've noticed is that whenever the failing process happens of virtualbox (start vm, kill vbox cause not responding), and i'm rebooting; the screen goes black and only shows me kernel messages until i force a shutdown.

Re: [SOLVED] Virtualbox stuck on starting vm

I'm pretty sure this was a hardware issue.
