[SOLVED] GIMP crashes on start

Since a few days, I'm getting the following error while trying to start GIMP

$ gimp
gimp: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgegl-0.4.so.0: undefined symbol: babl_fish_get_process, version V0_1_0

Partial upgrades are unsupported, make sure your system is up to date: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/System … nsupported

If you think that it is what do you get for

pacman -Q gimp gegl babl
pacman -Qkk gimp gegl babl

Re: [SOLVED] GIMP crashes on start

Ok thanks, I think my trouble is that I have babl-git instead of babl.
I need to figure out why.
Thanks

EDIT: replacing babl-git with babl fixed the issue.

Re: [SOLVED] GIMP crashes on start

Same issue here.
'babl' got replaced with 'babl-git' during an system upgrade done 2020-12-21.
Not an "active" choice, but due to some dependency. There where however no problem with changing from balb-git to babl.

I know my bad.. but others deserve to know and the rest can laugh
