Archive Manager

Hi,

I have installed file-roller through pacman, but I want it to also handle rar, zip and many other types of files. Currently it does not.  How can I do this?

Secondly, on my old Ubuntu distro, there was an 'Extract here...' on archives.  Is there a way to get this feature?

Thanks,

Re: Archive Manager

pacman -S rar unrar zip unzip

etc etc. You might have to reinstall file-roller but I doubt that.

For the Extract here... option look into nautilus-actions which is in the AUR, that might help.

The alternative is this post on the ubuntu forums

Re: Archive Manager

rar is a shareware & its in aur. pretty difficult to find when searching too. pacman tries to replace it with unrar when u update. only difference between rar & unrar is that the first can create rar archives too. unrar doesnt
