system freezing, kernel errors, fsck fails

Hi.
I've noticed some serious problems with my system in the last months. They aren't appearing periodically.
So, at first, my system sometimes completely freezes. I can't move the mouse cursor, nor switch to other tty. The another problem is that the fsck of the root partition often (nearly everytime) outputs errors. And the last problem is the system sometimes falls down just with an output like this (closer look, sorry for the low quality). I'm currently running 2.6.18-ARCH kernel26beyond , but it happened also before when I was running different kernel. And, I don't think it's a hardware issue, because this system has been installed on many different machines (32 bit), including different system hdd. Please, is here anyone who might know what's going on an how to fix it? I expect the source of these problems is the same.
