My specs:
Zephyrus G14 2020 (quite old but still kickin')
Ryzen 4900HX
GeForce RTX2060 Max-Q
32GB RAM
GDM + Gnome - latest versions
I have two external monitors with 144Hz Refresh rate each and and I work in hybrid GPU mode - meaning that iGPU is rendering desktop while dGPU just displays it on external monitors through USB-C dock. I had nvidia 520 drivers and with laptop lid closed there was no issue with 1FPS desktop with this. After I upgraded them to 525 the issue is back - as soon as I close laptop lid desktop changes to 1FPS mode, when I open the lid the issue is gone, but I still need to work with laptop lid closed. Downgrading nvidia drivers to 520 solves problem. Does anyone have this issue? Or maybe there is a tip on that?

I also had the same issue when I upgraded to 525.
Specs:
Hp Omen 15z-en100
Ryzen 5900HX
Nvidia RTX 3070 Max-Q
I have 2 monitors running at 60Hz & 120Hz, and the issue happens to me all the time, regardless of whether the laptop lid is closed or not.
I've tried using hybrid & nvidia modes in optimus-manager, removing optimus-manager completely and switching between different desktop environments before I found out that it was caused by the driver.
Still not sure why it happens.
Rolling back to 520 fixed my issue.

I have posted an issue on amdgpu gitlab
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/dri … /issues/59
I suspect that nvidia finally fixed issue with sys_clock_gettime syscall spam and now amdgpu has no other handle to sync.
