Hallo,
starting with 4.18 all .desktop files are "untrusted" now and when invoking them a window appears asking to "trust". That's a new "trust" mechanism that adds a 'metadata::xfce-exe-checksum' attribute (gio info my.desktop). I have too many .desktop files to manually set it via gui. Also, icons do not show until trusted that is annoying.
How can i "mass-trust" .desktop files via shell?

I'm kinda tying to understand what that should achieve and while it might sounds stupid (well, it does) - does "chmod +x file.desktop" suffice?
(And apparently this should not affect anything in $XDG_DATA_DIRS anyway)

Its already +x. Its gvfs based or something.
I've also asked in the xfce forum.
$ gio info Black.desktop

And that is actually all that's needed indeed. There is no high-level command though so it has to be done manually. Solution here.
