[SOLVED]How to unlock a locked desktop
I triggered again this problem today after I tried to run "sudo doublecmd" from double's commander command prompt(I shouldn't but I did!).
But I had this problem some other times in the past which caused from other reasons. The situation is the same though. The problem is that the desktop locked and seems that all tasks get a paused signal and nothing works except the mouse cursor which can move normally but no click registered. I can login to another tty. The first thing I try is to run htop and try to kill the effective task. This time I tried to kill sudo and doublecmd, but I couldn't until I ran htop as root. But this didn't unlock the desktop because all other tasks are paused. So I started to select tasks in htop and select the sigcont. But usually there are a lot of tasks and this takes a lot of time. This time I did it for about 50 and I managed to logout the session.
So, is any better and faster way to get out of this situation and without the need to logout?
(this time it happens with cinnamon, but I had the same problem with xfce or openbox in the past)

I'd first and foremost check why "sudo something" stops a lot of processes (some TSTP?)
How do you start the session and what's the output of "loginctl session-status"
"killall -u zaxdan69 -s SIGCONT" should™ continue all processes of that user, but I don't understand "the need to logout" - why do you "need" to logout?
You just want to continue the processing of your session err… processes, don't you?

I used "sudo" from double commander's command line, not the terminal, so there wasn't a prompt to input my password. It was my mistake. The important is how to get out from this situation if happens again(because it happened to me some other times in the past).

I'm using a custom application for logout/reboot etc which autostarts and stays in system tray. So when I get access to this app I logout and re-login.
EDIT:
I tested the "killall.." command you posted by intentionally lock the desktop again and works after I successfully kill the infected command(sudo in this case). Thanks!

What if you cut out startx and "exec xinit"?

I used wiki's suggestion(If I remeber well because past a long time after I configure it) to autostart X, but I changed it now to "exec xinit".
I'm using dbus-run-session because I used to have 2 different Xservers running and file select dialogs and notifications opened in the wrong x-session.
