Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello to all! I've been using Arch for a month or so and went through dozens of reinstalls after breaking some part of the system. I don't know more than the basics, but I try to do everything manually to get used to it.

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello fellow Archers! I have enjoyed my Linux journey so far, from Ubuntu -> Elementary OS -> Manjaro.
I'd like to deepen my Linux knowledge, that's why I've chosen Arch as my next stop as it's more of a DIY distro smile

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello!

A Developer and Sys-Admin here, been using Arch for a year now as my main driver on both my laptop, desktop and server at home.

My original reasons for using Arch and Linux in general was FOSS and feeling like a hackerman. But the Linux world is also prefect for my hobbies of coding, software independence, development and optimizing my workflow and computer usage.

Quick facts:

1: If I game, it's on Arch with an AMD card.

2: Normies fear the commandline and "Developes" fear it even more.

3: My T60 is still better then your consummurist, fragile, stylish piece of trash. (I don't care that I was nine when the T60 launched).

4: Point 3 is not that serious incase I offended you (Virtual Hug).

Have fun!

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello everyone,  on Arch for a couple of days,  not (yet ?) an expert on linux, but I try hard, and I love it !
I also have an other computer on Debian, but I think Arch should suit me better.

Cheers

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello, I'm fairly new to arch, but have been using Linux since the mid '90s. I started a project on a second PC to try to get the Intel ARC A750 to work in Linux with 6.xx + kernel. Not much luck in Pop OS, and some luck using Intel's kernel 5.17 package for Ubuntu. So far I have the best luck with arch, as I have Steam and games running well. I feel like a newbie because of the terminal usage for setup that I've kind of gotten rusty at. Only issue I have right now with the ARC Graphics setup is OBS window capture black screen with pipewire in wayland. I will hopefully find the appropriate place to talk about that as I search the forum.

Hello from 2023! Decided to use arch as I've wanted to use a unix based system for a while and I thought xmonad looked pretty cool.

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello to everyone,

I've used Manjaro and Fedora for a few years just for projects and fun times not as a dayly drive.
Now i've finally decide to use only arch dualbooting with windows.

Let's have fun!

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hello everyone!

I've been using Arch as my main distro since 2020-02 now and after 3 years of using Arch, I've finally decided to create a forum and AUR account, since I want to contribute to the AUR in the near future. I've installed Linux Mint as my first distro when switching from Windows in 2018, but after a while of using it, I wanted to dig a bit deeper. By now, I am very content with Arch and really love the distro. Due to it's lightweight nature, I can run it on almost any PC, and that's awesome. The ability to tailor the system to my needs is just amazing, and not having to install a desktop environment on an old PC really comes in handy. The AUR and pacman are two valuable tools that I miss any time I have to work on another non-Arch-based distro.

To everyone new to Arch: I wish you all the best and fun when playing around with the system. Though it can be frustrating at first, using Arch is definitely worth it. I've learned a lot by using Arch.

Hello world!

Since CentOS will be deader than dead or more or less already is, I'll try my hand at Arch Linux.

Let's have fun and good days ...

Re: The Official Hello Everyone Thread

Hey everyone!

I'm always a lurker, so I don't write a lot. It's a habit I can't seem to get away with.
I've been using Arch on and off for a while. Installed it more than 10 times on different machines I believe. However now I've decided to stick with it for a while.
after trying to hop into different distros and failing, I decided I can't leave Arch.
So I guess I'm stuck here! Might as well say Hello
