How to switch from xterminal to gnome-terminal?

When I press ctrl+alt+t the gnome terminal opens. But when I go to a directory and choose 'open terminal here', it opens 'X-terminal'. How can I change this to 'gnome-terminal'?

It might be nice if you told us anything that might be of use to us....   Say, for example, what window manager / desktop environment are you using.
As it goes, I might give you the answer for sway.  Someone else might tell you how to do it in plasma.  If we are kind, we might even tell you in which context our answer applies.

If this is GNOME check the org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal schema with gsettings or dconf-editor

EDIT: too slow...
