Login freezes if TigerVNC is enabled to run at boot time

I followed the ArchWiki documentation for TigerVNC: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/TigerVNC. It is working just fine, I can access it through different VNC clients. However I can't start a local session anymore if I enable the service:

systemctl enable vncserver@:1

Here is my local config:

alwaysshared
geometry=1920x1000
session=gnome

The GDM freezes after I put my password and press enter. Not sure what's happening.
