RGB lighting... does it work?

[SOLVED] As I am currently building a fully fledged PC and intend to run Arch on it, I am wondering if RGB components (Motherboard, RAM...) could - if they supported it - could be configured under Arch? Or would this be Windows only?

Re: RGB lighting... does it work?

Highly depends on what mainboard/RGB components you intend to use. For the boards/chipsets it supports OpenRGB works quite well.

... one more thing, would it be possible to configure them in a Windows VM? Recalling my little RGB  experience, at least some devices save configs to the device?

Re: RGB lighting... does it work?

Without passthrough through just a VM highly unlikely for the majority of contexts you'd want to do it for.
