Hello everybody!
I recently bought a mobo that supports ipmi which I haven't used before. After trying it out for some time, and encountering some limitations with it through the browser, I wanted to try a desktop application and found openipmi through the arch wikipages. The deciding factor for choosing openipmi among the available alternatives was that it's supposed to provide a gui according to the man pages (https://man.archlinux.org/man/community … migui.1.en). But as it turns out openipmigui is not installed with the openipmi package, the only file returned with
pacman -Ql openipmi | grep openipmigui
is it's man pages.
So, is it that openipmigui is removed from the openipmi package upstream and that the arch man pages just isn't updated or is it just erroneously removed from the package available in the arch community repo? Or as a third possibility; am I doing/understanding something wrong, I'm kind of an intermediate noob after all
Thanks beforehand.

Thanks for the reply!
Yes, I get that the openipmi package in the community repo doesn't provide openipmigui. I guess my question is if it should? And if not, why? From what I can tell it's still included in source (https://sourceforge.net/projects/openipmi/).

It looks like the maintainer simply chose not to build it. You can file a feature request, but upstream mentions that it's a bit fiddly.
