[SOLVED] No display detected when changing refresh rate to 144/120 hz

Hey guys, im having some issues with my current setup.
GPU: nvidia 3070ti
Xorg, qtile, nvidia ( pacman -S nvidia)
I have 4k 144hz monitor and trying to set 144hz / 120Hz ( hdmi 2.1 ) but once i do - i get blank screen and monitor shows me -  No signal detected.
Had some issues with qtile and wayland - it starts but screen blinks, nvidia-settings shows 0 options for X Server Display Configuration and no mouse pointer detected, so switched to Xorg and qtile.
Fresh Arch Linux install.
Also i have enabled drm in my grub config file , removed kms from /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.

Quick edit/update:

if i lover my res to 1440p - i can use 144 or 120Hz so i have a question - Is there some sort of issue with HDMI and nVidia in Arch or ( Linux ) in general ? Im sure if i change my hdmi cable to DP cable it will work ...

EDIT #2: Fixed. Connected to DP.

Re: [SOLVED] No display detected when changing refresh rate to 144/120 hz

Cable.

edid-decode /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI0/edid # replace HDMI0 w/ the actual output

You need DSC 1.2 support for this.
Cable.

xrandr --verbose

Also cable.

Does the monitor have a displayport input?
Did I mention the cable? (needs to be "HDMI Premium High Speed mit Ethernet" or "HDMI Ultra High Speed")

Since ppl. seem to be casting 5+ m long HDMI cables through their living rooms: How long is the cable?

Edit:

Is there some sort of issue with HDMI

Yes. It's called "HDCP".
Also the cable grading is a complete mess.

Well i changed to DP so its working now .. but on windows works on HDMI cable ( its 2.1 hdmi cable  and its 2m long only)
Later i will run edid-decode command and let you know.

Re: [SOLVED] No display detected when changing refresh rate to 144/120 hz

There is no "2.1 hdmi cable" - the bullshit marketing terms in #2 are the official grading and do not align with any protocol standard.
"complete mess"

but on windows

3rd link below. Mandatory read.

OP never provided the data from #2 - notably not the cable grading (no, it's not "2.1")

windows can

Is this based on sth. windows tells you or the monitor tells you?
On a limb, blacklist snd_hda_codec_hdmi (in case it's the sound stream that breaks the camels back)
