When encountering issues with sound cards like this, the first thing I think of is the sof-firmware package. Is that installed?

Did you ensure that Windows fast boot is disabled? It will often cause issues here. Also since I'm also thinking along the lines above and find it weird that the card would still use HDA. Which kernel are you on? If LTS try current stable.
