I'm currently trying to get it going since I though when they release their Java under the GPL I could build it for PPC. Well, so I thought.
To Bootstrap the J2RE it needs an already installed binary which of course is not yet GPLed. Recursive problem actually.
Hope they get it fixed soon!

kth5.. you could probably compile the binary on i686, as a cross compile. That might allow you to bootstrap the process.

Even though I'm not exactly a friend of comercial Java, I planned this evening for that already. Just need to find a new i686 machine, the one I had left at work broke the othere day. Probably the CPU fried itself and I didn't yet take the hassle to fix it. heh

kth5: yeah. heh.
Everyone: I find myself wondering what this means for the gnu-classpath and gcj projects. Anyone have prognostications about that?
