Unexplained Muffled Speaker

Hi all,

I have been happily using my recently-bought HP Elitebook 865 for a while. All works great, but the speaker sounds muffled whenever I play audio on linux. I dual boot with windows 11 and this is not a problem on windows. Any clue on what are the possible directions for diagnosing the problem? Thanks.

inxi -A:

Audio:
Device-1: AMD Rembrandt Radeon High Definition Audio driver: snd_hda_intel
  Device-2: AMD ACP/ACP3X/ACP6x Audio Coprocessor driver: snd_pci_acp6x
Device-3: AMD Family 17h/19h HD Audio driver: snd_hda_intel
Sound API: ALSA v: k6.1.8-arch1-1 running: yes
  Sound Server-1: PulseAudio v: 16.1 running: yes
  Sound Server-2: PipeWire v: 0.3.64 running: yes

Is it normal that Radeon / Realtek card have intel driver?

Re: Unexplained Muffled Speaker

I have the exact same problem as you described.

Did you manage to find a solution?

Re: Unexplained Muffled Speaker

The OP has not been back since February, so I am going to consider this thread abandoned and close it now.

shazde, if you need support, please open a new topic (which you will own and can marked [SOLVED] when you find a solution) and link back to this one if you think it applies.
