A humble question about GNOME 2.6 ...

I know all the package maintainers are very busy with this openssl upgrade mess, so please forgive me if I ask when GNOME 2.6 will be in pacman?

Feel free to reply that "it will be there when we get to it, you pest".

Just curious, that's all!

well if you want GNOME 2.6, i don't see why can't you use JGC's GNOME 2.6 packages. they work pretty well.

Re: A humble question about GNOME 2.6 ...

Blaasvis, thanks so much for this large effort!   Can you also include the gnome-audio package?   I had a bug report out on that for GNOME 2.4 but it never got done, probably since it was so close to the 2.6 release.   gnome-audio is for the user interface events.

Thanks again!

Re: A humble question about GNOME 2.6 ...

I've been using the gnome25 repository.
but since 2.6 is in the current now i figured i'd drop the gnome25 repository.
and now it tells me that all those packages are newer then the ones in the current.

would it be better to install those packages. or should i wait until the version nummbers catch up to those from the gnome25 repository.

personally, i just forced the ones from current to install overtop of the ones from the gnome25 repo  (done by removing the repo and pacman -S all of the packages it lists as being newer than the repo-didn't cause me any problems).  they aren't any newer, from the standpoint of gnome's releases, just revisions of bugs that cropped up in the packages (as i understand it)...
