Cannot unlock screen even with correct password

So I've had this problem since I started using Arch. Across every single install this has been an issue for me and I have no idea why. Every time my screen is locked (ctrl+alt+l, timeout, etc) it won't let me back in even with my correct password. I usually have to restart my computer to get it to work again. I've tried using xscreensaver as a replacement for Cinnamon's lock system, still the same issue.

Is absolutely no usable information.
Can you enter text into the unlock screen? What happens next?
Can you switch to another TTY and login there?
Do you use a US QWERTY keybaord layout?

As last resort, activate and use https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Keyboa … el_(SysRq) to reboot to preserve the system journal (briefly wait between each sequence), then inspect it around the time when the issue occured, look out for esp. pam errors.

Re: Cannot unlock screen even with correct password

I put in my password and it says it's incorrect.
