Displays not detected after disconnecting

I'm using Dell XPS 15 2020, and 2 external displays daisy chained via USB-C. Mostly, when I disconnect and re-connect the displays they do not seem to be detected anymore, until I reboot.
Sometimes they come back without a problem and without rebooting, sometimes it's as if they weren't detected at all. Sometimes they are "detected", and the displays are black, only the mouse appears to be rendered, and can be moved.

I've also noticed that sometimes IntelliJ seems to cause a brief disconnect of the displays (or at least, it looks the same), usually either when it's opened (very rare), or when introspecting a database. Sometimes this causes everything but the mouse to freeze and become unclickable, until I disconnect the external displays, then it starts working, but it requires a reboot for the laptop to detect the displays working again.

My kernel version: 6.1.9-arch1-2
My DE is gnome, version of gnome shell: GNOME Shell 43.2
My XDG_SESSION_TYPE is:  x11
I'm using official nvidia drivers, version: 525.85.05-4

How can I fix this issue?
