From the AUR to the Communtiy repo

Now that Hyprland is currently the number one package on the AUR by popularity, who should I reach out to about potentially getting it into the Community repo?

Re: From the AUR to the Communtiy repo

There is no "reaching out". If one of the Trusted Users[1] takes an interest they will add it themselves. Just be patient and hope for the best.

Or work to become a TU yourself and be the change you want to see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Trusted_Users

[1] Or are they called "Maintainers" now?

Re: From the AUR to the Communtiy repo

PM Maxim (maintains 'sway', 'waybar', etc) is involved in the developement - and Hyprland is still considered "beta" . Once that changes I assume Maxim will push it...
Personally I don't really get the hype about it having used sway for several years without seeing-the-need-for/missing rounded corners or "fancy" animations - but that's just me (I did a test run of Hyprland).

Reason for editing: Rephrasing

How can you live without rounded corners or "fancy" animations??? What century are you from? big_smile

Joke on the side.. you're right, but I can't wait for hyprland to be stable enough for official repos... smile

@dogknowsnx to each their own I suppose, my fav part of Hyprland isn't even the fancy animations or decorations, but rather the ease of configuration big_smile
