Hello,
I got 2 new monitors (Samsung Odyssey G7 S28AG700N). The problem is if they go into standby and I press a key to wakeup the monitor they wake up with a black screen and go into standby again because they dont get a signal. (No system suspend only monitor standby)
I can tigger the issue with "xset dpms force suspend". System will be still awake just monitors turn off, same issue. The issue only appears in 120 hz mode. If i set the monitor to 60 hz it shows the desktop after wakeup.
I investigated the issue and tested alot.
If I wakeup one monitor with a button press on the monitor before pressing a key on the keyboard/move the mouse then the monitor gets detected normally and shows my desktop. If I only wakeup one monitor then that one will show a desktop the other will go back in standby and dont receive a signal.
If I wakeup both monitors beforehand then both will show the desktop. Same thing if I use xset to force the suspend and press a keyboard key before the monitor goes into standby.
So the issue only appears if the monitor goes into standby and is still in standby by the time I press the keyboard.
Also tested the HardDPMS option, but isnt changing anything. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … :_HardDPMS
If I do strg+alt+f1 and then strg+alt+f7 then it gets detected again and the desktop shows.
