No way to reopen progress dialog in Thunar?

When you initiate a copy of a large file in Thunar, it shows a file operation progress dialog.

If you close this progress dialog (deliberately or accidentaly), there is no way to re-open it. As far as I can remember, in previous versions there was an icon in Thunar toolbar that would re-open it, and I think that there was also an icon in the taskbar.

I don't see those icons anymore... is it just me, or was this feature removed for a reason?

PS: as far as I can see, closing the dialog does not stop the copying, so this lack of control is quite annoying, i.e. for really large operations that take several hours it makes more sense to avoid Thunar and use something else...

Re: No way to reopen progress dialog in Thunar?

Indeed seems like a bug. My guess is an omission after the notification icon has been removed.

You may open a feature request in Xfce’s GitLab, to introduce a menu entry for the user to bring back the window. There already is a related request to Re-Introduce Thunar Tray Icon for Transfer Dialog via StatusNotifier API, but that is focused on a problem of users, who have no way to minimize windows. In this case it’s about a presence of UI element that allows displaying the window on request.

As a circumvention of the issue, you may start any other operation (e.g. create and delete an empty file). This will bring the window back.
