I noticed that when switching from modesetting to xf86-video-intel, retroarch is able to provide lower input latencies (i'd say a frame less by gut feeling).
This happens without any compositor running nor any tearfree driver option active.
Retroarch is set to sync to vblank, so no tearing with either driver.
From time to time the display freeze with intel driver and i've to suspend and resume the laptop to recover, so if there is an option in modesetting driver or whatever to achieve the same low latency as the intel driver, i'd make the switch.
Anybody has suggestion on something to try?
Thanks.
