keybord layout, localisation and special caracters

Is there any way I can add a new keyboard layout or any other way to type special characters that I need
you see I'm from Serbia and I use us keyboard layout for most of my staff that I use, but sometimes I need these characters

     Č, Š, Ž and Ć

Depends on the context.
For X11 and possibly some wayland servers see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg/K … ompose_key
Play close attention to the part that says "However, GTK does not use XIM"

You can also have multiple layouts and switch them w/ a shortcut.
