[SOLVED]Community package lower version than website after pacman -Syu

Discord specifically is causing issue. My machine seems to think that 0.24-1 is the most up-to-date version of discord, but when I launch it, it prompts me to download the updated version and install. The package site lists the most up to date version as 0.25-1. I've manually refreshed the keyring in addition to an Syu. Also waited overnight in case I was catching some weird sync issue between the website and the keyring, to no avail. I'm stumped.

Try a different mirror, yours is likely outdated.

Re: [SOLVED]Community package lower version than website after pacman -Syu

I am having the same problem and I think it is an issue on the arch side. Both the wpi and siena mirrors are up to date according to https://archlinux.org/mirrors. When I use wpi in my pacman.conf

[community]
Server = http://mirrors.acm.wpi.edu/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
$ sudo pacman -Syy
:: Synchronizing package databases...
$ pacman -Ss discord
community/discord 0.0.25-1 [installed]
    All-in-one voice and text chat for gamers

It finds the most up to date discord package.

Switching to the siena mirror

[community]
Server = http://mirror.siena.edu/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
$ sudo pacman -Syy
:: Synchronizing package databases...
$ pacman -Ss discord
community/discord 0.0.24-1 [installed: 0.0.25-1]
    All-in-one voice and text chat for gamers

I get the old version of discord.

Looking at the siena mirror http://mirror.siena.edu/archlinux/community/os/x86_64/ shows it has discord version 25-1. I think the issue is that the community.db file in the siena mirror has not been updated since 12-Feb-2023 whereas community.db in the wpi mirror was updated 19-Feb-2023.

I run into the exact same issues with the  advancedhosters mirror (http://mirrors.advancedhosters.com/archlinux): Arch saying it is updated, the discord package being up to date, but the community.db file being out of date.

I went and updated my mirror list as specified in the Wiki (using kernel.org mirror as top choice) and this issue was resolved!

Hey OP, if you can please report the issue on our bugtracker so it is noted, otherwise in the future you can report any further issues on the ArchLinux bugtracker. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mirror … ng_mirrors. Thank you!
