Help with nvidia drivers

I installed arch to my desktop manually and it was laggy so I installed the nvidia driver using pacman -S nvidia, I then rebooted and it was still laggy so I ran nvidia-xconfig then rebooted and now my system will not boot up what did I do wrong

what you did wrong was use nvidia-xconfig. Remove /etc/xorg.conf.
