[SOLVED] Line out audio not working

I have yesterday installed arch also with kde plasma. Today I realized that headphones plugged in the front panel are working, but my speakers plugged in the motherboard (line out) are not.
Both devices were working fine on windows that I had previously installed.

In the settings I can see both under a single device as two ports. Somewhere I found that installing pipewire could help but I still have the same issue.

I just tried that. I see there Master, Headphones, Line and bunch of other items. But only the Master and Headphones work (on the headphones). The Line doesn't do anything.

In my previous reply the Line shows 'off', when I unmute Line in alsamixer it shows 'on' but it still doesn't work

Line is only at 55% and there's a

Simple mixer control 'Line Boost',0

which is at 0%

Otherwise:

speaker-test -c2 -Dhw:1

Does that get you noise on the HPs and/or line out?

When I unmute and set reasonable volumes on everything in alsamixer (max for 'Line' and 'Line Boost') I hear the noise only from headphones.

I solved the issue. In alsamixer there is also an 'auto-mute' option. It was enabled. I didn't know what it does (and id didn't know the controls to disable it) so I just didn't change it.

When I disable the 'auto-mute' option my speakers work.

It juggles the output between HPs and LO, ie. when you plug the HPs, the LO mutes.
Did you try the LO always w/ the HPs plugged in?

Did you try the LO always w/ the HPs plugged in?

Yes, I didn't realise that unplugging the HPs could make the LO work.
