[SOLVED] can't store data on desktop

Hello guys, I am a new arch user. I can't store any files on my desktop. For instance, ranger displays created or copied files on desktop but visually it's a clean window. How can I fix it?

What desktop environment do you use? Some do not display icons on the desktop, by design.

Moved to Newbie Corner.

Since Arch does not include a desktop out of the box, you just might want to start by telling us what Desktop Environment / Desktop Manager you are using.

Gnome no longer supports files on the desktop.   You may be able to use this extension to restore this functionality....
