When I try to Ctrl+V tracks to a Spotify playlist its UI always freezes for a minute before continuing work. This also causes applications like Telegram and Slack to freeze.
I've had this issue on Arch for more than a year. I use spotify-launcher, but I've also reproduced this on the official snap and the AUR package. I've tried reinstalling Spotify and removing configuration and cache. I haven't found any solutions for this exact issue.
spotify-launcher 0.5.0-1

I can attest this issue also happens to me, I'm using the AUR version which is the same, latest build as the one you get from spotify-launcher, which is 1.1.84.716-12-Release
The thing I can't reproduce is that the other application I'm using (in this case, just Vivaldi) doesn't hang.
To test this I pasted upwards of 2300 songs (the entirety of my liked songs over 4-5 years) to my playlist, but I'm seeing it happen with 100, or even just 10 songs as well. And, it's pinning a single core at 100%. I'm going to take a solid guess here and say that something's going on specifically with the client and the best way forward is to either file a bug report with Spotify or bring this to their official forums for better support. I don't believe this will be an Arch-specific problem as it's coming from different packages, as well as snap, and no specific crashes seem to be happening.
Definitely get in touch with the developer.

Can confirm.
Made a bug report already: Spotify Community / Desktop (Linux) / [Bug] Pasting songs in playlist freezes the application
Happens for me on Arch as well.

Yeah, I'm trying to comment there, but the Spotify bug tracker filters it when I try to post the log and says to wait for moderation. I've been trying for a whole day at this point. Thanks for confirming, everyone!

I know, I got the e-mail notification for your comment, but can't access it there.
The Spotify Community Website meets the same quality standards as the Linux native application...
...just try using that application with a 4k or even 8k resolution...good luck ;-)

Well, at least the Linux app isn't officially supported, the bug tracker doesn't have that excuse
I just posted it without the log
