Lots of commands suddenly dont start/hang up

After having set Arch up and everything working pretty flawlessly (i have used arch for a few years before) i start up and a lot of commands suddenly dont start anymore or hang up mostly without an error message. those include
sudo
ip link
firefox
and many more.
when trying to shut down there's a stop job for the open sessions as well as for "Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD Stack"

Internet connection (im using NetworkManager) also totally tanked

just pretty baffled how Wayland works but so much else breaks at once while seemingly to me I have changed nothing

Your providing the actual error messages is mandatory.
Wired or wireless network?
Define 'tanked'?   Does it work at all?  Do you have an IPv4 address?
