[SOLVED] Star Wars Battlefront 2 doesn't start.

Hello!
I'm trying to play star wars battlefront 2, but if I press the "play" button on steam, an EA window pops up, then closes after some seconds and then nothing happens, except that the "play" button on steam is showing again. I added the following to the `LAUNCH_OPTIONS` box: `PROTON_LOG=1 %command%`. Here you can see the content of the log file:

Do you have an idea how to fix that?

The only suspicious part I could found was

That looks like the first reported error . A ddg search for it suggests this could be a problem in your vulkan setup .

Please post the output of (run as normal user)

No idea what formatting you are using, but these forums use BBCode . Please use  [ code ] tags for such output.

The outputs show you have 1 videocard, an AMD RX 6660 . You are missing vulkan layers to support that card/driver though .

Install vulkan-mesa-layers & lib32-vulkan-mesa-layers . rerun vulkaninfo --summary, it should now show several additional layers including VK_LAYER_MESA_device_select .

P.S.
No idea where VK_LAYER_NV_optimus comes from as you don't have an nvidia card or optimus system.

No idea where VK_LAYER_NV_optimus comes from as you don't have an nvidia card or optimus system.

Hm... I have the nvidia-utils package for some reason, I just removed it since it looks like that no other package depends on it now.

The outputs show you have 1 videocard, an AMD RX 6660 . You are missing vulkan layers to support that card/driver though .

Vulkaninfo output looks good now, try starting Battlefront 2 again.

Nothing wrong in glxinfo outputs, the steam start log has fontconfig warnings, but those should be harmless.

Maybe the log from starting battlefront has to much info to see the real cause, can you try starting it from terminal without the proton_log addition ?

It does mention DXVK is needed and that hasn't been looked at.
