docker stopped working

i tend to use docker less frequently on my main workstation but i noticed that it just doesn't startup anymore. i've tried restart it and my computer a few times and updating everything an no luck. i've also tried running it directly via dockerd. i was able to track down an error message but i'm not sure what would have broken it. the odd thing is that my other computer runs docker all the time and that suffered no problem during any updates over the last few months.

The main error I'm seeing says: "graphdriver: driver not supported" and early in the logs i see "Module aufs not found"

I don't believe I've uninstalled any kernel modules manually so I'm not sure how this happened (assuming its a kernel module).

Re: docker stopped working

Sorry to post a "solution" for my own issue but i tried wiping /var/lib/docker (since i didn't keep anything i cared for here anyway) and now it starts up fine. I only see this warning in logs:

Not using native diff for overlay2, this may cause degraded performance

I found some linux-aufs in aur but i didn't install it as I didn't install it on my other computer that works fine so I'm still unsure as to the cause of the issue but hopefully this can be helpful for others.

Re: docker stopped working

Welcome to the forums.  No issues posting solutions to your own threads;  in fact, we appreciate it as it helps improve the forums as a reference.  You can improve upon it by editing your first post and adding [SOLVED] to the beginning of the title to help others find your solution.

Also, while you are there, you might wrap your program output in BBCode code tags to make it more readable.  That link is also available as a reference under all of the post boxes on the forums.
