PM regarding 'polkit' and 'pacman -Syu'

The latest update of 'pcsclite' (required by e.g. 'wpa_supplicant') will pull in 'polkit'...
If you have installed one of the above packages or anything depending on them and don't want 'polkit' on your system, consider alternatives (I'm not suggesting any).

Re: PM regarding 'polkit' and 'pacman -Syu'

AUR packages for pcsclite (e.g., pcsclite-nopy) do not (currently) require polkit and meet wpa_supplicant's dependency requirements.

EDIT: also the repo package builds and works just fine with the "--enable-polkit" configure flag removed (and the polkit entries removed from depends/makedepends).

Re: PM regarding 'polkit' and 'pacman -Syu'

@ewaller Edited the title and rephrased OP to (hopefully) sound less ambiguous...

EDIT: @Trilby Personally, I've switched to 'iwd' for a wifi-backend and satisfied 'networkmanager' with a dummy package replacing 'wpa_supplicant'. I might get rid of 'networkmanager' altogether in the future...

EDIT#2: Done - ditched 'networkmanager' in favor of 'systemd-networkd'.
