[Solved] 5Ghz Wifi stopped working with Intel AX200

Hi,

Starting from today, all 5Ghz Wifi connections are failing on my primary computer. All 2,4 Ghz connections are working flawlessly.
I am using an Intel AX200 PCIe Ethernet adapter, which worked fine for the last 2+ years and it stopped working without any change.

What I already tried:
- Downgrade Kernel from 6.2.5 to 6.2.2 and 6.2.1 (no change)
- Try 5(!) different Wireless networks, including Hot Spot from my phone (none worked on 5 Ghz)
- Boot Windows on the PC and connect to a 5 Ghz Wifi network (does also not work)

When I try to connect to a 5Ghz network, this is being logged in dmesg:

Does anyone has an idea? The Wifi adapter is recognized correctly:

Re: [Solved] 5Ghz Wifi stopped working with Intel AX200

Have you tried more than one access point/router?  Have you restarted the access point/router?
Is the regulatory environment on your computer set properly (to the same domain as the router?

What are the output of find /etc/systemd   ?

Re: [Solved] 5Ghz Wifi stopped working with Intel AX200

I tried 3 different Routers (AVM Fritz! Box, Unifi AP AC Lite and iPhone 12 HotSpot). None of them worked with 5Ghz.
I did also re-start the APs and power-cycle the computer. No other computer in my home has similar problems.

Re: [Solved] 5Ghz Wifi stopped working with Intel AX200

Downgrade Kernel from 6.2.5 to 6.2.2 and 6.2.1 (no change)

The conneciton did previously work on those (older kernels)?

Boot Windows on the PC and connect to a 5 Ghz Wifi network (does also not work)

3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.

Other than that, linux and windows showing the same behavior (starting at the same time) of course very much suggests a hardware or UEFI issue.

Re: [Solved] 5Ghz Wifi stopped working with Intel AX200

Today, I did replace the Wifi card with a new identical one (Intel AX200) and it works perfectly fine again.
I also tested the PCIe card in another computer and the same behaviour occured.

So the actual hardware was broken.

Thank you all for the hints :-)

Koren
