When using wayland on my AMD Renoir system (laptop with embedded AMD graphics), my external monitor (144 Hz, connected via Display Port) shows white stripes every few seconds. The problem decreases with lowered Hz.
It happens on KDE Plasma and Gnome. It happens far less on Hyprland and Sway.
The same monitor works fine on a different computer (also on 144 Hz) as well as when switching from wayland to X11. Therefore I rule out the monitor itself and the cable as potential source of the problem.
Any idea(s) what I could try here?

Error messages in dmesg/the journal while reproducing? The fact it "disappears" on X11 could also simply be that xorg can only really sync to one display refresh at a time and might pick 60Hz as the integrated GPU is declared as primary.

Nothing in dmesg. It flickers every few seconds. Sometimes at bit less, sometimes a bit more. So it's not a constant rate or anything. It would flood dmesg if it was anything like that. That would have been too easy, I guess :-/
It's true that in X11 it has to sync, but it runs on 120 Hz then - which also flickers on wayland. I am 99% sure that it actually runs on 120 Hz, because scrolling and moving windows is significantly more fluent than when I switch it to 60 Hz.
