[Solved] What does "error response to PolicyKit daemon" mean?

Dear all smile

I am trying to get input-remapper-gtk to start.

https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper

yay -S input-remapper-git
sudo systemctl restart input-remapper
sudo systemctl enable input-remapper

[a@t470s ~]$ input-remapper-gtk
input-remapper-gtk 2.0.0-rc d0cc1b82a808f1b72c2b5dddb836c4342a3117d3 https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper
python-evdev 1.6.1

[a@t470s ~]$ pgrep -a polkit
690 /usr/lib/polkit-1/polkitd --no-debug

Based on the last command polkit is running.

Searching for this error gives these, where someone is having the exact same problem as me. Just 3 years ago smile No solution is posted...

* https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper/issues/117

I am running Sway, but even if I start i3wm, then I get the exact same error.

Question

Can anyone figure out what the problem could be?

Hugs,
Sandra smile

The description for AUR issues is

AUR Issues, Discussion & PKGBUILD Requests
General AUR related subforum. Want to request an Archer to create an AUR PKGBUILD for you? Read the sticky for instructions, and post here!

My problem is not related to AUR. It is polkit related.

I would appreciate very much if the post could be moved back to Newbie Corner.

Would that be unthinkable?

Your problem appears to be with input-remapper-gtk , which is not in arch official repos.
Often such threads are moved to aur issues subboard.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
