booting into live mode freezes

after updating my system. it couldn't boot up anymore freezing at startup. i downloaded the iso and created a bootable drive to chroot into the system to figure out the problem but that also freezes. i saw some solutions here on adding the kernel parameter nomodeset but that also didn't work. where do i go from here?

What kernel did you upgrade from?  I take it as you created a new bootable drive you do not have one with an older kernel?

You can obtain older ISO's from https://archive.archlinux.org/iso/ the kernel they use is listed on https://archlinux.org/releng/releases/
Once you have usable boot media more diagnostics can be performed to diagnose the issue with the current kernel.

You would use Arch_Linux_Archive#How_to_downgrade_one_package for the new install.  For existing installation assuming the old kernel is in the cache you would use Downgrading_packages#Downgrading_the_kernel.

I can only suggest picking one from before the last time you performed a full system upgrade.

i added rw init=/bin/bash to the kernel parameter to boot the system into a shell. i uname -r from there and it shows "6.2.2-arch2-1"

If you blacklist the modules used by the system's GPU can you boot without  init=/bin/bash
If not try the kernel parameters iommu=soft acpi=off.

If there is anything in the journal from a failed boot post the whole of the journal for that boot.  If there is nothing from a failed boot,  post the journal for a good boot on the old kernel.

You may also need to create a boot loader entry.  It depends which boot loader you use.
