Plugging Hub disconnects Wi-Fi

Hello,

I use Arch on an HP Laptop (HP 14s-fq0098nf) with Openbox (no desktop environment).

Since it only has 2 USB ports and no SD card reader, I've bought this Tsupy Hub to be able to connect several USB keys and my Wi-Fi adapter.

I use NetworkManager to connect to the Wi-Fi, with an Edimax wifi adapter which is plugged into one of the USB ports (the internal network chipset is Realtek RTL8821ce, and it's badly supported for the moment).

Now, each time I plug the USB hub into my laptop, my Wi-Fi connection is interrupted. However, I haven't plugged anything to the hub (its 3 USB ports are empty).

How could I troubleshoot this issue? I'm completely lost. Thank you very much for you help!

Re: Plugging Hub disconnects Wi-Fi

I've just though about something : could it be because the hub is USB-3 compatible, whereas my laptop only has USB-2 ports?

Re: Plugging Hub disconnects Wi-Fi

Is the incident reflected in dmesg/the system journal?
