zookeeper being removed from AUR?

A few minutes ago, zookeeper https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zookeeper is removed from AUR.  This is unfortunate since zookeeper is still a widely used java component and there are a few client libraries in both aur and community repo. Is there any information about why the package is deleted?

Edit: And looking into it, it doesn't seem to make sense. Just because something in the repos bundles it, it gets removed?

Re: zookeeper being removed from AUR?

There doesn't even seem to be a file conflict between kafka and zookeeper . This looks like a bad reason for a deletion .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: zookeeper being removed from AUR?

Maybe someone should upload it again and mention this thread in the initial commit message. The repo should still be there.

I doubt that bluntly going against the maintainers is going to be received well.

I think bluntly fulfilling invalid user requests isn't either.  If at all this should be discussed on aur-general mailing list.

Re: zookeeper being removed from AUR?

Proper procedure would be to reply on the mailing list and ask for the package being restored for said reasons.  Debating it here won't help.

I don't think this statement is doing justice to the (likely overworked) TU who deleted it because they likely had no time to look up the specifics of zookeeper.  The repo still exists, and is probably just three clicks away from being restored.  Mistakes happen, people learn, and having this package restored is likely just a matter of writing a small mail, which probably even takes less time than ranting here for no gain smile

Re: zookeeper being removed from AUR?

I restored it by making another git push to AUR repo. And I added back the original maintainers thor77 and cramaker in the package page.
