[SOLVED] installing gnome unstable breaks my system

when i installed gnome-unstable and rebooted, gdm says "oh no! something has gone wrong!". i tried downgrading to the stable version by commenting gnome-unstable repository and pacman says this:

So leaving the packages on the newer versions until the non-testing repositories catch up is fine but you can rollback if you prefer, or if you encounter any problems.

There's no libedataserverui4 in the repos, the dependency is provided by evolution-data-server, so remove libedataserverui4

sudo pacman -Syuud --overwrite "*"

and now my gdm and gnome desktop is fixed

Thank you. i tried to install gnome-unstable because the repositories are taking too long to get gnome 44

Ftr, that's a bit aggressive - and risky - and one would better have cleaned up the interfering packages one by one.
